The total cost of Shopify POS is a combination of your plan, transaction fees, and POS Pro locations.

Your plan is the foundation for your account. It gives you access to point of sale, online sales, payments processing, marketing, analytics, shipping tools, and more.

Your transaction fees are a percentage automatically debited from each sale made through Shopify. Transaction fees will depend on the plan you choose.

POS Pro is the subscription for your retail locations. It gives you access to advanced POS features such as staff, inventory, and customer relationship management at select locations. We recommend POS Pro locations for businesses that have a lot of foot traffic, multiple tiers of staff, or a large inventory catalog. Shopify POS Pro is an additional £69 GBP/month billed yearly for each location.

There are a few things businesses need to set up a new POS. To start with Shopify POS, you'll need a smartphone or tablet and a Shopify card reader.

POS Pro and POS Lite are the settings for your retail stores.

POS Lite is included with every Shopify plan. On POS Lite, you can take in-person payments, capture basic customer information, and accept limited returns and exchanges.

POS Pro is the upgrade for your retail locations and it costs £69 GBP/month/location. On POS Pro, you get advanced features designed for businesses selling from a permanent retail location.

The Pro subscription adds the following features:

• More control over staff permissions
• Rich customer profiles and lifetime value reporting
• Faster workflows for discounts, exchanges, stock transfers, and in-store pickups
• Deeper insights about product performance with in-depth inventory reporting

If your retail business sees a lot of foot traffic, has multiple levels of staff, or carries an extensive product catalog, we recommend POS Pro for your locations.
